Kuusamo Pre Tour
JCI Kuusamo warmly welcomes you to Kuusamo Pre Tour 10. -11.6. before EC 2024 in Oulu! Kuusamo is known for its natural beauty and breathtaking landscapes. Region of fells, forests and wilderness split by lakes and rivers, Kuusamo is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Finland.
This tour will take you to the unforgettable river rafting and relaxing reindeer yoga. We will also enjoy delicious, traditional Finnish cuisine with JCI friends.

River rafting Wild Route
Wild Route is for wild JCIs! We will experience three biggest rapids on River Kitka and 1 kilometer long Lake Jyrävä. On this route adrenaline is pumping, everybody is paddling and you won’t stay dry! Wild route is about 4 kilometers long and it will take approx. 2 hous.
Wild route is suitable for daredevils and experienced rafters, altough previous experience isn’t required!
Raft is guided by an official and experienced rafting guide. The rafting package includes high-quality equipment: helmet, floating vest, paddling suit, rubber boots, services of an authorized guide, liability insurance and nature conservation fee. Minimum age 18 years.
Wild Route is done in co-operation with Basecamp Oulanka.
Reindeer yoga
Experience yoga with reindeer in an authentic reindeer farm. Enjoy well-being in nature, learn reindeer asanas and about reindeer. Visit to the farm shop is also possible.
Accommodation in Wilderness hotel
We will stay overnight at the lovely complex of wooden buildings providing comfortable and cosy accommodation in a stunning location overlooking Lake Juuma and backing onto Oulanka National Park, situated in a remote, wonderful, unspoilt wilderness location. Each room has two single beds for guests.
Healthy, tasty and local to fill your stomach
In the evening we will enjoy delicious and traditional Finnish three-course dinner. Restaurant is serving organic and locally produced food. Also healthy breakfast and lunch are included in the tour.
Price and registration
Price: 285 € (Tour includes guided river rafting and high quality equipment, reindeer yoga, lunch on Mon, three-course dinner on Mon, accomodation in Mon – Tue, breakfast on Tue, transportation during the trip)
Tour starts 10 th of June from the centre of Kuusamo Town. We will pick you up by bus and head together towards tour activities (approx. 50 km distance from Kuusamo centre). Detailed scheldule will be delivered to participants.

Registration opens 31.8.2023. Minimum of 16 participants must be registered for the tour that it will be arranged.
Getting to Kuusamo is easy
- Arriving to Kuusamo by plane is convenient. Flight from Helsinki to Kuusamo takes only around 1 hour. Book your flights directly from Finnair (finnair.com). We will assist you with airport transportation.
- By bus from Oulu to Kuusamo takes approx. 3 hours. Book your tickets from Matkahuolto (matkahuolto.fi)
